Q: What makes AP Resolve different from other companies that offer similar services?

OP: What makes us unique is that we provide a personalized service for clients. We look at their problems and provide training that is directly related. In a way, you can call us  dynamic. Our training is based on the regulatory norms. Every year, we provide sessions that reinforce good practices in manufacturing. When training a company’s staff, we adapt the course to level of the personnel we are training. If they are operators, we try to explain things in a more direct manner, with examples and exercises. For technical staff, we focus more on the modular aspect of the norms. In many cases, we provide the training at the location of the operation. Apart from in-house exercises, we also hold open events where we present speakers and various interactive activities. All our training personnel have over 20 years of experience in the health sector.

Q: The majority of AP Resolve clients are pharmaceutical companies. What are the principal challenges they face and what solutions do you provide to meet these?

OP: One of the principal problems is risk analysis. We work with special matrices that allow better analysis of problems. With respect to taking both corrective and preventive action, most clients have a system in place. But often this system is not used adequately. It is important that personnel are trained through actual exercises with different scenarios. We also provide advice on various matters and help them implement protocols for matters such as transfer of technology or maintaining quality standards. We find that our clients generally tend to perform better in inspections after they have received our training.

Q: What is the different between capacitation and qualification?

OP: Capacitation is all about imparting knowledge and strengthening it. In our courses, we focus on specific problems and take a very practical approach. This is the area where we provide advice and instruments so companies can build a stronger system.  With regards to qualification, we do not qualify people. However, we do give a course on qualification where clients learn how they can qualify their own personnel. The criteria for qualification depend on the job function. Every person at a company will be expected to have different competencies depending on their level of work. We often work with HR departments. Together we determine what specific competencies we are looking for, such as being able to work in a team or show leadership.

Q: How involved are you with medical devices companies and warehouses?

OP: We have clients in both areas. For warehouses, norm 059 has changed. We responded to this by offering training specifically tailored to this change. In the area of medical devices, we provide a similar service with respect to norm 241. We have sought several alliances with other companies that provide similar services to help meet demand. We also do pharmacovigilance, and technovigilance.  The National College for Chemists, Pharmacists and Biologists has assisted us with knowledge and expertise.

Q: How does being part of GRUPO CHCM contribute to AP Resolve’s services? What other key alliances does the company have to strengthen the services and solutions that it offers?

JH: We have a variety of plans and projects within the CHCM Group. The group consists of a series of companies that are geared to specific topics in the health sector. The goal is to create a better division of responsibilities between the separate companies. We have sought alliances; for example, with industry chambers in Mexico City and Guadalajara. With respect to working together with the government, we have special agents trained and registred in the Ministry of Work and Social Security. All our trainers receive training by the National Council for Normalization and Certification of Work Competence (CONOCER).

Q: What are AP Resolve’s main goals for the next three years?

JH: The principal objective is to continue offering training and to do so with new techniques. We want to improve people’s learning, forging a more personalized relationship with our clients. We are going to conduct studies in which we will look at the needs of the industry and see where we can continue to expand our services.
