Air Traffic Grows 78 percent in Mexico

During the first two months of 2022, airlines in Mexico transported 14.6 million passengers on 128,800 flights, a 78 percent and 36 percent increase, respectively, when compared with the same period of 2021, according to the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC). Meanwhile, Aeromar signed an interline agreement with Air Canada to offer Canadian travelers access to several destinations in Mexico.

Mexico to Play a Role in the Aerospace Supply Chain of Tomorrow

Air Canada, Aeromar Sign Interline Partnership

Air Canada announced an alliance with Mexican airline Aeromar that will offer access to several destinations in Mexico to Canadian passengers. With this move, Air Canada became the latest North American airline to expand its offering in Mexico. The close commercial relationship and tourism ties between both countries is of major importance in the region, and improving connectivity is an important tool to further enhance growth between Mexico and Canada.

During Jan-Feb. 2022, AFAC registered 14.6 million passengers and 128,800 flights in Mexico, a 78 percent and 36 percent increase, respectively, when compared with the same months of 2021. In addition, the cargo business saw a 0.9 percent decrease in the interannual comparison.
