Airbus reinforced its commitment to Mexico by presenting a wide selection of products, innovations and services during FAMEX 2021. The OEM will also open a Helieschool in Yucatan by the end of 2021 and revealed the new generation of CityAirbus.

Airbus was present at FAMEX 2021 held in Felipe Angeles International Airport to exhibit its single-engine H125 helicopter, single-engine H130, a twin-engine helicopter of the H145 family and the C295 of the Mexican Air Force. The OEM highlighted that the multipurpose capability of the H125 and H145 is ideally suited to Mexico's hot and high altitude operating conditions, as the helicopters can be configured to perform a wide range of public services, such as emergency medical transport (EMS), law enforcement missions and fire fighting.

During Airbus announced a new helicopter pilot school created alongside the Mexico Aviation School (EAM) and the government of Yucatan. The school will start its training and operations cycles by the end of the year and reaffirms Airbus' commitment to the development of the local aerospace industry. In a press announcement, Airbus stated that "thanks to the favorable ecosystem offered by the State of Yucatan, the new Heliescuela will be located at the Merida International Airport and will host students from all over Mexico; it will have a training capacity for 20 pilots during the first year and then increase its available spots for the next."

Finally, Airbus announced its plans for a new CityAirbus during the first #AirbusSummit. This is the next generation of CityAirbus, which is equipped with fixed wings, a V-shaped tail and eight electric propellers as part of its uniquely designed distributed propulsion system. It can carry up to four passengers on an emission-free flight. "We are seeking to co-create an entirely new market that sustainably integrates urban air mobility in cities while also addressing environmental and social concerns. Airbus is convinced that the real challenges have as much to do with urban integration, public acceptance and automated air traffic management as with vehicle technology and business models. We draw on all capabilities to offer a safe, sustainable and fully integrated service to society," said Bruno Even, CEO of Airbus Helicopters. CityAirbus will have a range of 80 km and reach a cruising speed of 120 km/h, making it perfect for operations in large cities for various types of missions.
