The Airport and Auxiliary Services (ASA) Network delivered a total of 491 million L of jet fuel in December 2022, an increase of 13.4% from the same month in 2021, according to the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT).

The ASA Network supplied a total of 5.09 billion L of jet fuel at its 61 stations during 2022, which is equivalent to delivering 13.9 million L daily. In 2022, the total amount of jet fuel supplied was 28.6% higher than in 2021 when it reached 3.96 billion L, equivalent to distributing 10.8 million L per day. ASA performed over 46,000 aircraft services in 2022 to comply with its jet fuel distribution demand, an increase of 15.4% from 2021, when it registered 733,000 services.

ASA was responsible for 51.7% of the total fuel sold during 2022, as the rest was provided by other companies. ASA’s facilities in Mexico City were responsible for distributing 1.73 million L, while the facilities in Cancun distributed 1.13 million L and those in Guadalajara 385 million L.

“ASA reaffirms its commitment and experience in the sector with the incorporation of a new vehicle fleet for the supply of aviation fuels, which incorporate improvements in security systems: five dispensers with a supply capacity of 600 gallons per minute, in addition to 8 autotanks with a capacity of 20 thousand liters,” explained SICT via a press release.

The Airports and Auxiliary Services (ASA) Network closed 2022 with 25.9% recovery in passenger services in comparison to 2021. The network received 3.6 million passengers in 2022, surpassing the 2.9 million users of 2021, as previously reported by MBN. Air operations also surpassed 2021 levels for a total of 129,095 in 2022, a 4.4% increase from the 123,664 air operations carried out in 2021.

State oil and gas company PEMEX is Mexico’s main jet fuel producer. The company reported an estimated net revenue of MX$1.5 trillion (US$79 billion) in 2021. PEMEX is separated by a wide margin from its competitors. That year, Femsa reported a net revenue of MX$39.92 billion (US$2.12 billion), Grupo Petroil reported MX$25.1 billion (US$1.33 billion) and Shell Mexico reported MX$20 billion (US$1.06 billion), according to Statista
