Q: What problems does Dewesoft want to solve and why should Mexican aerospace companies be interested in this value proposition?

A: We work to save lives. We test all the systems and components of an aircraft to make sure they are working properly. We are focused on the area of validation, quality and prototype development. In Mexico, the main service we offer is data acquisition systems, which allow clients to analyze the performance of a system or component. We can measure basically any type of variable. We deliver a report to our customers so they can determine if they need to make any changes in the design, material or any other element in their component.

Q: What makes Dewesoft competitive in Mexico?

A: Dewesoft has been designing and manufacturing data acquisition software and hardware for 23 years. Our software is free for life and there are no annual licensing fees. In addition, the software is very intuitive to use and our support is available 24 hours a day.

Although the software is totally free, to work best you need the hardware. Still, the software can run without hardware and there is a simulation mode that allows customers to see how the latter works and its benefits. We can also lend customers the hardware so they can start practicing with it.

Q: How do the company's data acquisition systems compare to others in the market and what is your differentiator?

A: We have four differentiators. The first is that we have the most powerful software in the industry. It is the most comprehensive and allows us to measure a wide variety of data: sound, current and power, among other variables. The second differentiator is that, as mentioned above, it is the only software that is free for life. The third differentiator is that our hardware comes with a seven-year warranty, which you will not find anywhere else in the market. Our fourth differentiator is that we have the fastest technical support in Mexico. The company is from Slovenia and all requests for technical support go to our headquarters there. As soon as they receive a request, our HQ team sends it to us to solve the problem. It can be less than half an hour.  Another important advantage is that our software is part of our data acquisition hardware, allowing the customer to have access from anywhere as long as the hardware is available.

Penetration of data acquisition systems in the aerospace industry has been low, except in Brazil. In Chile, our main clients are in the mining industry, while in Ecuador and Colombia we are in the automotive sector. We participate in many industries, as companies need to measure and control temperature, humidity, noise, vibration, acceleration and pressure, among other variables. Nestlé, for example, uses our solution for the production of its Magnum ice cream bars. In this case, the priority is to maintain a certain temperature throughout the production process so the ice cream does not melt. We also work with automotive brands, including Ford, Kia, Lamborghini and Ferrari.

Q: How have the company's solutions, especially data acquisition systems, been received in the aerospace industry?

A: We have been well accepted, leading to an increase in sales. Our main customers are Honeywell and General Electric, which has allowed us to grow our footprint in the aerospace industry. An important strategy for us is to participate in events like FAMEX, which is the largest aerospace event in Mexico. In addition, we are doing monthly webinars where we teach key information on different types of analyses at no cost.

Q: What are some challenges that the company identifies in the Mexican aerospace industry?

A: The industry in Mexico is still closed in terms of suppliers because very few companies dare to try someone new. The aerospace sector also requires a great number of certifications, which is good; however, the industry is closed to those companies that do not have certifications validated in Mexico. This is a lost opportunity because many have international certifications and it is just a matter of validating them in Mexico.

In the public sector, and more specifically SEDENA, they are used to acquiring data with old and analog equipment. There is a resistance to learning new systems and people have the idea that new things are always more complex. However, our solution is very quick to learn and we guarantee that even if you are not an engineer, you will end up understanding the program in a matter of hours.

Q: What enhancements or innovations is the company working on?

A: Our annual hardware and software improvements are more incremental than dramatic. The basis of our operation is a card that receives a signal, amplifies it, conditions it and converts it into a digital signal, which works very well. Still, we listen to our customers and their needs. If they do not find something they need in our catalog, we manufacture it.

We update our software every three to four months. We also listen to customer requests in this regard. When there is a demand, our technical development team introduces improvements to the platform.

Q: What are the company's goals for 2023 and what is the outlook for 2024?

A: Globally, we are in the Top 5 of the leading manufacturers of data acquisition systems, only behind brands that are almost 100 years old. In Mexico, our direct office opened just three years ago and we are in the Top 10. Therefore, our mission for this year is to be among the Top 5 in Mexico.

Our projections are more reserved for 2024 due to the elections in the US. Companies are waiting to see what is going to happen before deciding how to develop their operations. Growth will come after this period.
