HSBC México and Viva Aerobus launched two credit cards, HSBC Viva and HSBC Viva Plus, to improve travel experiences for passengers, while adding numerous benefits and rewards programs for cardholders.

“HSBC Viva is HSBC México's first co-branded credit card. It offers, exclusively, interest-free loans in the purchase of Viva Aerobus flights; as well as a series of benefits for cardholders such as free luggage, priority boarding, access to Mastercard lounges at the AICM and more,” reads Viva Aerobus’ press release.

The HSBC Viva seeks to improve travel experience for Viva Aerobus passengers by adding exclusive promotions to the airline’s low fares. Both companies will now add unique benefits that aim to make travel more attractive, simple and accessible with the support of HSBC and MasterCard.

“For 16 years, Viva Aerobus has revolutionized flying thanks to its ultra-low-cost business model, making the possibility of traveling by plane available to more people. And today, together with HSBC, a leading financial institution with an international presence, we are reinforcing this commitment with a credit card that makes it even easier to access air travel with added value so that all our passengers enjoy each one of their trips with great benefits, low prices, direct flights and the newest fleet in Mexico,” said Juan Carlos Zuazua, General Director, Viva Aerobus.

Doters, Viva Aerobus’ loyalty and rewards program, will provide additional benefits for cardholders. Being a member of Doters, while using HSBC Viva will allow customers to obtain from one to four free flights during the first year of the card’s usage. The credit card will also give welcome and anniversary points, accumulated in every Viva Aerobus purchase to be exchanged for flights, additional services and many more products.

“Trips represent 8 percent of the consumption that is made with credit cards in the country. Therefore, this alliance with Viva Aerobus is strategic, as it is the second largest airline in the domestic market in Mexico, with more than 15 million passengers in 2021. By working as a team, we can add and support people's interest in traveling and living new experiences, in a year in which both consumption with cards and air travel are reactivating," said Jorge Arce, President and CEO, HSBC México.
