JetBlue announced its newest flight from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Puerto Vallarta’s Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport, connecting both destinations with four weekly flights.

“Enabled by JetBlue’s Northeast Alliance (NEA), Puerto Vallarta service brings JetBlue to its third destination in Mexico and further expands the airline’s significant presence across Latin America and the Caribbean, while diversifying and advancing its New York focus city strategy. JetBlue continues to grow beyond the US with over 30 international destinations in more than two dozen countries. JetBlue also becomes the only airline to serve Puerto Vallarta with nonstop service from New York-JFK and now offers more weekly flights between greater New York City and the Mexican Pacific coast destination than any other airline,” reads JetBlue’s press release.

Puerto Vallarta is now the third official destination for JetBlue customers seeking to travel to Mexico. During the announcement, the airline also highlighted the location’s beautiful beaches, family-friendly activities, world-class gastronomy and warm hospitality for travelers. Briana Gisel Banda Renteria, Head of Public Relations and Project Management, Puerto Vallarta International Airport, explained that the airline’s arrival to Puerto Vallarta is a sign that the best is yet to come, while noting that the airport offers the highest safety measures and investments to improve passenger experience.

“As demand for travel continues to increase, we are excited to introduce the new route to Puerto Vallarta, offering our Northeast customers a new destination in Mexico. We look forward to continuing expanding our network and international presence in Latin America as part of our growth strategy,” said Andrea Lusso, Vice President Network Planning, JetBlue.

JetBlue’s service will operate with a mix of both the Airbus A321neo and A320 aircraft on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays, offering free and fast Fly-Fi broadband internet, complementary and unlimited name-brand snacks and soft drinks and free live DIRECTV programming at every seat.

Puerto Vallarta’s International Airport, part of Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico, is bouncing back from the losses seen during the COVID-19 pandemic. The airport reported a total of 468,900 domestic and international passengers in Jan. 2022, 11.8 percent less than in Jan. 2019 but 113.7 percent more than in Jan. 2021.
