TFS Deploys World's First Siemens SGT-400 Turbine Test Bench

Mexican turbomachinery and industrial services provider TFS Turbine Field Solutions has launched the world’s first advanced test bench for Siemens SGT-400 gas turbines at its facility in the Port of Veracruz, marking a key milestone in its technical capabilities and international expansion.

The deployment forms part of a broader infrastructure expansion that includes a secondary test bench designed for Solar Taurus and Centauro turbines. Operating out of a 15,000 m2 specialized workshop dedicated to dynamic equipment and mechanical engineering, the company currently provides services across six international markets, including Colombia, Peru, the United States, Dubai, and regions in Asia.

TFS was established more than two decades ago in offshore oil and natural gas operations, where its primary scope involved maintaining gas turbines operating continuously on 24-hour schedules. The company has since expanded into a full-cycle turbomachinery provider, employing more than 200 specialists. Its service portfolio encompasses supervision, installation, and commissioning of gas turbines, along with complete overhauls, precision component manufacturing, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) for critical parts, real-time remote monitoring, and large-scale power generation.

In addition to the Siemens SGT-400, TFS maintains equipment capabilities for Solar Taurus 60 turbines and Solar centrifugal compressors across multiple configurations.

“What we built at TFS did not begin with a vision of global expansion; it began with the responsibility of keeping turbines operating in one of the most demanding projects in the Mexican energy sector. That technical requirement is what led us to develop our own capabilities in manufacturing, aerospace, and technology. Today we operate in six countries because we first learned to operate without margin for error at home,” said Fernando López, director, TFS Turbine Field Solutions.

To support its manufacturing expansion, TFS established its TFS Aero division, which specializes in high-precision computer numerical control (CNC) machining, surface treatments, advanced metallurgical diagnostics, and MRO engine component refurbishment. The division holds membership in the Mexican Federation of the Aerospace Industry (FEMIA) and maintains talent development alliances with STEM universities across Veracruz.

Alongside its hardware and engineering footprint, TFS has introduced ARGUS, a proprietary operational intelligence platform designed for critical asset management. The digital ecosystem integrates mechanical condition parameters, technical operating variables, and financial performance metrics into a single interface. The system is engineered to enable asset owners to make operational decisions based on comprehensive evaluations of risk and profitability rather than isolated technical data.

TFS operates under an Integrated Management System certified to multiple international standards, including ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management), ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety), ISO 37001 (Anti-Bribery Management), and AS9100D (Aerospace Quality). The firm has also received the Socially Responsible Company (ESR) designation for seven consecutive years and was named among the Best Mexican Companies for 2025.
