As the Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA) prepares to open in March 2022, Viva Aerobus announces flights from AIFA to Monterrey and Guadalajara.

“Both routes will begin on March 21, that is, from the first day of operations of this new airport. The two services will offer a daily flight at prices that start from MX$304 (US$14.02) for a single trip, MX$19 (US$0.88) + MX$285 (US$13.14) from Airport Use Fee (TUA). These new routes are in addition to the service that the airline currently offers at the ‘Benito Juarez’ International Airport in Mexico City; Viva Aerobus recalls that its business model allows it to operate simultaneously in multiple airports in the same city or region, making point-to-point flights, with the lowest rates,” reads a Viva Aerobus press release.

Major concerns arose regarding the development, certification and studies on the viability and safety of operations in AIFA. However, Viva Aerobus assured that it has followed up the situation to strengthen the country’s connectivity in strategic destinations.

Since AIFA is located outside of Mexico City, its connectivity by road continues to be a major concern, as reported by MB. However, Viva Aerobus stated that the airline will offer its ‘Viva Bus’ service, which will transport passengers from the airport to the Central Bus Terminal of the North of Mexico City and vice versa. The routes will seek to program times with flights for user convenience. Customers will be able to purchase a ticket for the bus at MX$75 (US$3.46); with the tickets being available at the airline’s website, Viva Tiendas, at the Central Bus Terminal of the North of Mexico City or during flights with flight attendants.

“Starting a commercial operation at the Felipe Angeles International Airport responds to the growing demand that has been registered in recent years in the Metropolitan Area of the Valley of Mexico. Viva Aerobus’ commitment is to continue connecting destinations so that more and more people have the opportunity to access convenient, safe and reliable air transportation. We see an opportunity in this region and we will be there to offer passengers the best service with the youngest and most modern fleet in Mexico and with the lowest prices,” said Juan Carlos Zuazua, General Director, Viva Aerobus.
