Viva and Aerus, both Monterrey-based airlines, have announced a new codeshare alliance enabling passengers to access over 130 routes, including 37 national and international destinations.

"This integration will allow millions of passengers to access more destinations, more frequent flights, and better connections, linking major urban centers with communities that have historically been off the commercial aviation map,” said Javier Herrera García, CEO, Aerus.

The partnership allows Viva to reach smaller cities and previously inaccessible locations due to the size of its fleet, which comprises Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft. New destinations include Laredo, Brownsville, Minatitlan, and Piedras Negras.

Aerus, which began operations in 2023 in Monterrey, operates a fleet of Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft and currently serves 13 routes across Mexico and the southern United States. Viva offers 143 domestic routes and 52 international routes.
