Viva and Iberia have strengthened their collaboration to enhance travel options between Mexico and Europe. Launched in 2022, the partnership now focuses on providing smoother connections for passengers.

"Mexico has become one of our most important markets, with over 2,000 passengers flying daily between Mexico City and Madrid," an Iberia spokesperson shared.

This year, Iberia has deployed its largest capacity ever to link Mexico and Europe. "This partnership is crucial not only for direct travel between the capitals but also for connecting passengers from 21 cities in Mexico to Europe, while offering more Europeans the chance to explore the beauty of Mexico”, said Víctor Moneo, Director of Alliances and Institutional Agreements, Iberia.

Through their code-share agreement, Iberia passengers can access 21 destinations in Mexico operated by Viva from Mexico City’s International Airport (AICM).

Iberia, transports over 2,000 passengers daily between Mexico City and Madrid and operates a network that spans over 100 European cities, with additional routes to Africa and Asia, including Cairo, Doha, and Tokyo.

Viva operates a fleet of 90 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, the youngest in Mexico and the fifth-youngest in North America. Iberia complements this with its fuel-efficient A350 aircraft on the Mexico City-Madrid route, offering 348 seats and 35% greater fuel efficiency than earlier models.
