Mexico remains the leading exporter of mangoes to the United States, with 55,404,132 boxes shipped as of week 26 of the 2024 season. This represents the largest volume from any country currently exporting mangoes to the US.

The National Mango Board (NMB) reported that the total volume for the Mexican mango season, which began in January and runs until October, is expected to be about 1% lower than last year's figures. Despite this slight decrease, the projections for the season remain strong, with an estimated 94.8 million boxes to be shipped.

During the week ending June 29, 2024, approximately 4,221,703 boxes of mangoes were shipped. The primary varieties exported during this period were Kent with 52%, Tommy Atkins with 29%, and Ataulfo with 16%. Key regions currently involved in harvesting and packing mangos include Colima, Jalisco, Michoacan, Nayarit, and both South and North Sinaloa.
