Moleaer and Royal Brinkman will partner up to bring Moleaer’s nanobubble generator technology to Mexico. This agriculture innovation is expected to improve crop production for greenhouse growers in the country in a sustainable way.

Royal Brinkman is an international company that provides supply, installation and consultancy services to the horticultural industry. The Dutch company has worked in Mexico for over a decade. On the other hand, Moleaer is an American company that develops industrial-scale nanobubble technology.

The collaboration between Royal Brinkman and Moleaer initially started in Europe back in 2019. Since then, their alliance has successfully led to the installation of nanobubble generators that have proven effective in supporting greenhouses and outdoor reservoirs across the continent.

Nanobubble technology in agriculture consists of injecting microscopic oxygen bubbles into water used to irrigate crops. These trillions of nanobubbles diffuse through the water, fundamentally changing its chemistry, which allows it to bring many benefits to plants. Benefits include boosting plant growth and health and preventing the growth of common water-borne pathogens. This technology allows to replace harmful chemicals used to remove food-borne pathogens such as E. coli, while diminishing the use of synthetic fertilizers that runoff into water bodies and affect the balance of ecosystems. Additionally, nanobubbles can also be used in chemical-free water treatment by clearing freshwater reservoirs of algal blooms and removing bad odors in water and wastewater treatment facilities.

Nick Dyner, CEO, Moleaer, pointed out that its customer base in Mexico has developed rapidly in recent years. “Mexican growers are constantly looking to improve their cultivation methods and nanobubbles can contribute to that mission by reducing root-borne disease, improving yields, reducing biofilm and improving irrigation water quality and performance.” Dyner highlighted that Royal Brinkman’s network in Mexico would allow his company to expand local support and service to growers.

Ben Sosef, General Manager, Royal Brinkman Mexico, stressed that both companies are looking forward to replicating their success with nanobubble technology in Mexico, as they have seen it in other countries before. “We strongly feel that Mexican growers are ready to adopt the leading nanobubble technology for horticulture to improve their operations and sustainability,” he commented.

Moleaer started commercializing its technology back in 2017. Its patented nanobubble technology has been validated by renowned universities, including UCLA, Virginia Tech, University of Georgia, among others, as well as horticultural research organizations such as Delphy and NovaCropControl that have registered benefits for tomatoes, peppers, strawberries and other crops. Currently the company operates in North America, Europe and South America. By the end of 2020 it had delivered over 700 systems to over 200 greenhouses and vertical farms and was treating over 100 million gallons of water per day with its systems.
