Silk Launches New Plant-Based Formula in Mexico
Silk introduced its new plant-based beverage formula in Mexico, aiming to strengthen its position in the growing market for dairy alternatives.
The launch comes as the global plant-based beverages market is projected to increase from US$21.9 billion in 2025 to US$52.4 billion by 2035, with a compound annual growth rate of 9.1%, according to Future Market Insights. In Mexico, the plant-based food and beverage market is expected to grow at a 10.8% annual rate between 2022 and 2027, driven by rising demand for nutritious and sustainable options.
Silk’s new formula was designed to integrate easily into daily routines, offering six essential nutrients, an improved texture, and a neutral flavor profile adaptable to various consumption moments, from morning coffee to post-workout smoothies.
“The transition toward a plant-based diet goes beyond a trend; it reflects a genuine interest in products that provide real benefits, fit seamlessly into daily life, and still taste great. With our new formula, Silk offers exactly that: nutrition, practicality, and flavor,” said Paula Vasconcellos, Brand Director, Silk at Danone Mexico.
Vasconcellos added that the company aims to make healthier choices accessible without requiring significant lifestyle changes. “We want people to discover that living healthily does not have to feel like a distant goal or a sacrifice. It can start with small choices, like switching to nutritious and easy-to-integrate alternatives,” she said.
Silk’s launch aligns with broader industry trends favoring fortified formulations, including added calcium, vitamin D, and B-complex micronutrients, responding to growing consumer demand for products that balance nutrition, convenience, and taste.
