Source.ag Launches API for Harvest to Improve Forecasts

The Netherlands-based agritech company Source.ag introduced its Source Application Programming Interface (API) for Harvest, aimed at improving collaboration across the horticultural value chain. The company considers the introduced API will represent a major leap forward in collaboration, streamlining data exchange between sensor companies, climate computers, labor systems, growers, cooperatives, and sales organizations.

Source.ag says this new API builds on the success of the Source API for Sensors, providing real-time harvest expectations and registrations directly from Source.ag solutions. The tool is designed to streamline communication and offer seamless data sharing among growers, cooperatives, and sales organizations, the company notes.

The company says Source API for Harvest ensures that cooperatives and sales organizations receive the latest harvest data, helping them adjust to supply changes and meet market demand for fresh produce. It aims to enhance operational efficiency and improve financial outcomes for all parties involved by leveraging real-time data.

According to Source.ag, the new API can work independently, but it can also be integrated to its Source Cultivate, enabling farmers refine yield forecasts. When growers update their yield projections through Source Cultivate, these updates are automatically made accessible via the API, ensuring efficient data sharing across platforms. “The Source API for Harvest represents a major leap forward in collaboration across the horticultural value chain.
