CalAmp Names New CEO to Drive Connected Mobility Push

CalAmp, a global leader in telematics and connected vehicle solutions, has appointed Maurizio Iperti as its new CEO, the company announced on March 10, 2026. Iperti, who previously served as president of the Connected Car Solutions (CCS) business unit, succeeds Chris Adams following a fiscal year 2025 marked by full debt repayment and a strategic pivot toward data-driven operational intelligence.

The leadership transition signals a formal shift for CalAmp and its subsidiary LoJack, as the company moves beyond traditional stolen vehicle recovery (SVR) toward a “connected mobility ecosystem.” The strategy integrates real-time monitoring and route analytics into the daily operations of insurers, leasing companies, and automotive distributors. 

Leadership Transition and Strategic Vision

Iperti brings 18 years of leadership experience within CalAmp to the CEO role. During his tenure, he oversaw the accelerated growth of the CCS unit, which includes LoJack International and the Tracker Network in the United Kingdom. He has worked closely with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), dealerships, and public safety agencies.

“It is an honor for me to assume the role of CEO, CalAmp and work with our trusted and dedicated employees around the world to offer our customers robust solutions, efficient service, and lasting partnerships. I hope to accelerate our investments in hardware, software, and services that generate meaningful and measurable impact for our customers,” Iperti said.

Cynthia Paul, chair of the Board of Directors, CalAmp, said Iperti was selected for his customer-centric approach. “Maurizio embodies our customer-focused vision. He recognizes that the success of our customers must be the foundation of our work as an organization. He has the skills, experience, passion, and proven ability to leverage CalAmp’s engineering culture and technical excellence to create differentiated, value-added telematics solutions that provide peace of mind as customers monitor, track, and protect their most valuable assets,” Paul said.

Financial Performance and Operational Benchmarks

The appointment follows a fiscal year in which CalAmp restructured its balance sheet. For fiscal year 2025, the company reported:

  • Debt elimination: full repayment of outstanding debt
  • Liquidity: year-end cash balance of US$64 million and US$41 million in free cash flow
  • Revenue: 15% year-over-year growth in the CCS division

Operationally, the company maintained strong performance standards, including Caterpillar Supplier Excellence Certification for a second consecutive year. For a global transport and logistics client, CalAmp achieved “100% cloud uptime during peak season for the third consecutive year, supporting mission-critical operations during periods of highest demand.”

LoJack: From Recovery to Operational Intelligence

Under the “LoJack Connect” brand, the subsidiary is repositioning its technology as a tool for “operational continuity.” The shift moves the platform from reactive stolen-vehicle recovery to continuous asset visibility.

“LoJack’s evolution reflects a broader shift in how both consumers and businesses approach vehicle security,” Iperti said. “Beyond responding after a theft occurs, LoJack Connect expands the focus toward continuous visibility and operational intelligence generated through vehicle data. Through real-time monitoring, route analysis, alerts, usage patterns, and asset tracking, the platform enables vehicle information to support everyday operational decisions related to efficiency, continuity, and risk management.”

He added that this evolution “transforms the vehicle from a recoverable asset into an active source of operational insight.”

Technical Differentiation and Industrial Standards

A core element of the company’s technical strategy is the use of digital radio frequency (RF) technology alongside GPS. This dual-layer approach is designed to maintain signal integrity in environments where conventional systems are less effective, such as underground parking facilities or during signal jamming attempts.

“For high-value assets, where theft schemes are increasingly sophisticated, this capability represents a major operational advantage by reducing dependence on a single technology and strengthening recovery potential,” Iperti said.

The company is also applying lessons from industrial environments to broader fleet and logistics markets. Iperti noted that such environments require “high levels of operational availability, safety, visibility, and asset control, often under demanding conditions.” He added, “For fleet and logistics segments, we take best practices from the industrial space and apply them to solutions focused not only on location tracking, but also on operational oversight, minimizing downtime, and maintaining continuous visibility over critical assets.”

Future Growth and Quality Management

In Mexico, LoJack has focused on standardized processes and tighter integration between technology and operational response. This included obtaining ISO 9001:2015 certification in 2025. According to the company, this approach allows it to “sustain response capabilities and operational performance without relying exclusively on scale-driven growth.”

Looking ahead, Iperti outlined the company’s immediate priorities: strengthening its connected mobility ecosystem by expanding solutions focused on operational visibility, monitoring, and data-driven services across multiple industries. This includes deeper integration with strategic sectors and continued expansion of the RAC Connected Telematics partnership in the UK, which recently added AI-enabled video capabilities for commercial fleets.
