Chinese car manufacturer Chirey informed of its future plans in Mexico, which include the construction of its own assembly plant to position itself in Latin and North America. The company also plans to bring its first units to the country in 2022.

“Chirey wants Mexico to be the core of its Latin bridge to North America; not only for the sale of automobiles but also for the planning of design, manufacturing and export of automobiles from Mexico to the neighboring region,” said Zhang Guibing, President, Chirey International.

At the first stage, the Chinese company will have a network of 40 dealerships around the country, located in Aguascalientes, Baja California, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Nuevo Leon, Puebla, San Luis Potosi and other states. By 2030, the company aims to have over 100 dealerships in Mexico and will also invest in its own plant. “By 2026, we will have our assembly plant in Mexico,” said Guibing.

The company has over 20 years of experience and more than 10 million customers around the world. It aims to keep growing its market and Mexico is one of its next steps, as the country is the second largest economy in Latin America and in a privileged location close to the North American market.

The Chinese company stated that the first models it will introduce to Mexico include two vehicles in the category of family SUVs: the Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro. These vehicles will target one of the largest markets in the country. With its vehicle offer, Chirey aims to offer functional and economical solutions to Mexican families. The first batch of units will test the response of the Mexican market and allow Chirey to “adapt its product’s to the Mexican territory and its customs,” said Chirey in a press release.

These vehicles will offer basic warranty of 5 years or 150,000 kilometers for the entire vehicle and 10 years or 1 million kilometers for the engine, according to Chirey. “I am confident that, with the introduction of new products, new technology and continuous innovation in Mexico, we will gain the recognition of Mexican customers and make Chirey one of the most important and trusted brands in Mexico,” said Charlie Zhang, General Manager, Chirey Mexico and Executive Vice-President, Chirey International.
