DHL Presents Electric Fleet in Mexico

During the Logistics World Summit & Expo 2023, DHL showcased its new electric fleet, which is part of its strategy to achieve zero emissions by 2050. The fleet consists of 56 electric vehicles deployed in the major cities of Mexico, including Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara. DHL aims to support various industries, with a particular focus on the pharmaceutical and retail sectors. The initiative is expected to reduce its carbon emissions by over 70 tons per year. "The launch of this fleet in Mexico sets a trend for other countries in Latin America,” says Alejandro Echeverri, Senior Director of Latam Transport Operations, DHL Mexico, to MBN.

The Micro Parts Industry Will Continue to Grow

The micro-parts industry in Mexico's automotive sector has been driven by the rising demand for smaller and more precise components. Mexico's strategic location near major automotive markets such as the US, coupled with its cost-effective labor force, places it in a favorable position to capitalize on this trend. However, the industry also faces some challenges such as the scarcity of skilled labor and competition from other low-cost manufacturing centers worldwide. Nevertheless, the future prospects for Mexico's micro-parts industry remain promising, with sustained growth anticipated in the coming years. Learn more about this on MBN.
