Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC) Mexico, Mercado Libre Salesforce have launched a joint commercial partnership aimed at digitizing and streamlining the car-buying process in Mexico. The collaboration integrates digital storefront browsing with artificial intelligence infrastructure to capture online consumer interest and route qualified leads to physical dealerships in real time.
The initiative comes as Mexico's automotive industry undergoes an accelerated digital transformation. Under the new operational model, GAC Mexico has launched an official digital storefront on Mercado Libre, enabling prospective buyers to view the brand's full vehicle catalog, evaluate technical specifications, compare models, and submit digital inquiries within a verified e-commerce environment.
AI Engine Processes Prospect Data Behind the Scenes
While the storefront serves as the customer-facing interface, the core technical innovation operates behind the scenes via Salesforce's artificial intelligence and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) infrastructure.
When a user submits an inquiry or fills out an interest form on Mercado Libre, the contact data is ingested into Salesforce's environment. The lead is processed by Agentforce, Salesforce's AI agent platform, which interacts with the prospect to provide initial personalized guidance, collect relevant customer details, and evaluate purchase intent.
The system uses automated qualification algorithms to identify high-intent sales opportunities and prioritize incoming leads. Once qualified, the customer profiles are transferred through Salesforce's Automotive Cloud directly to GAC Mexico’s network of official distributors. The assigned dealership then initiates direct contact to arrange test drives, discuss financing options, review current promotional offers, and finalize the vehicle transaction.
"The purchase of a car increasingly begins in the digital environment. At Mercado Libre, we work to connect people with brands in a simple, reliable, and efficient way. GAC's official store, with integrated artificial intelligence for lead management, marks a new stage in the evolution of automotive e-commerce in Mexico," said Mariano Nunes, Head of VIS Motors, Mercado Libre.
Leveraging Existing Enterprise Technology Architecture
The integration serves as an extension of GAC Mexico’s broader enterprise technology architecture. GAC Mexico operates its sales, marketing, and data analytics on a unified suite of Salesforce enterprise software, which includes Automotive Cloud, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Tableau, and MuleSoft.
Connecting Mercado Libre directly to this existing CRM stack eliminates manual lead transfers, enabling an end-to-end operational pipeline where an initial click on the e-commerce platform generates an actionable lead for field sales teams.
"This collaboration represents much more than adding our portfolio to a digital platform; it is a new channel that connects consumer interest with GAC Mexico and our dealer network. Through Mercado Libre’s technology and Salesforce’s artificial intelligence capabilities, we will be able to provide faster, closer, and more personalized attention during every stage of the buying decision," said Sergio González, Commercial Director, GAC Mexico.
Executives involved in the deployment emphasized that AI-driven CRM tools allow sales teams to automate administrative workflows, lower customer acquisition friction, and focus on higher-value customer service interactions.
"Artificial intelligence is changing how companies build relationships with their customers. In the automotive industry, having contextual information and intelligent automation allows companies to respond faster, deliver personalized experiences, and convert digital interest into real business opportunities," said Claudia Martínez, Senior Director of Strategy and Sector Solutions, Salesforce.
