Guanajuato's harmonious relationship with the automotive industry contrasts with that seen in other countries, said Governor Diego Sinhue Rodríguez during the 10th edition of the Foro de Proveeduría Automotriz, which took place today in Leon, Guanajuato.

During the Foro de Proveeduría Automotriz 2023, Governor Rodríguez also shed light on the promising developments surrounding Port Interior II in Celaya. This ambitious endeavor is poised to further enhance the region's prominence, given that the Bajio region already contributes to 36% of Mexico’s automotive production. The state anticipates attracting over US$7 billion in investments, cementing its status as a thriving automotive industry hub.

Guanajuato holds a significant share in Mexico's automotive production. With 27 out of 46 municipalities actively participating in the automotive supply chain, the sector's vitality is underscored by its contribution of 20% to Guanajuato's GDP.

The forum aims to facilitate the integration of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) into the automotive supply chain. This year, the event attracted over 10,000 attendees, including participants from more than 300 leading companies. During the inauguration, the Guanajuato Automotive Cluster was awarded ISO 9001 certification.

The inauguration was attended by the Governor of Guanajuato, the President of the Guanajuato Automotive Cluster and representatives from the Mayor of Silao.
