IAISS Puts Queretaro Under the Spotlight

The International Automotive Industry Supply Summit Mexico 2023 (IAISS 2023) is only a week away and Queretaro authorities are getting ready to receive the most important players in the automotive sector. Organizers expect to host key players like PWC, Robert Bosch and Kia Motors, among other important players from both private and public sectors. 

IAISS 2023 will take place between May 31, 2023, and June 1, 2023, at the Queretaro Congress Center (QCC). Organizers highlighted that the event has received over 720 intents of purchase, which are expected to benefit suppliers from Queretaro and the rest of the country. Furthermore, according to Esteban Villaseñor, President, Queretaro Automotive Cluster, the event is not limited to only the manufacturing and metal-mechanic sectors, but also other areas like R&D and services, such as accounting. “This is an important event to boost a key industry for Mexico and Queretaro,” he added. 

The event will offer the opportunity to schedule 1 to 1 business meetings, networking via cocktails, as well as expositions, conferences and seminars. Regarding conferences, the stage will be opened by Queretaro Governor Mauricio Kuri; Marco del Prete, Queretaro’s Minister of Sustainable Development; Francisco González, Executive President, INA; Alberto Bustamante, Director General, INA;  Luis Rodríguez, President, Confederation of Custom Agents Associations (CAAAREM), René Mendoza, President, National Supply Chain for the Mexican Industry (CPIM) and Juan Benavente, President, Mexican Association of Mold Manufacturers (AMMMT).  

The event will focus on a wide variety of relevant topics for the automotive sector, like strategies for supplier development in the electric vehicles (EVs) sector. High-level speakers like Alejandro Marin, Head of SQM Plants, Vitesco Technologies; Gerson Medina, Supplier Quality Development Manager, Kia Motors, and Robert Huter, Vice President of Purchasing, Robert Bosch, will also share their insights during key panels and conferences.

Overall, IAISS promises to be an excellent opportunity to connect with key players in the automotive sector and boost nearshoring opportunities that will drive the sector in the coming years. The event will host 80 major buyers including car manufacturers and Tier 1 companies such as Stellantis, KIA, Ford, BMW, Honda, BOSCH, BRP, Continental, ZF, BorgWarner, Kenworth, John Deere, Martinrea, Eaton, Foxconn, Caterpillar, Marelli, Visteon, Vitro, Brose Rassini, Hitachi, Magna, Valeo and Tremec, among others.
