Manufacturing Footprint Grows

Sat, 09/01/2018 - 09:59

Volkswagen may be celebrating its 50th anniversary in Mexico but for other German players, it is just the beginning of their history in the country. Audi has already started operations in Puebla to build the Q5 that will be exported all around the world. Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz is about to start production in Aguascalientes at the COMPAS plant and BMW is scheduled to finish constructing its facility and deliver its first models by the end of 2019. With the arrival of these three players, Mexico has now become a manufacturing hub for the premium segment, thus adding to the country's already competitive position as an automotive destination.
