Mercedes-Benz Mexico and Fashion Week Mexico have announced the end of their 17-year sponsorship agreement, marking a major shift for the country’s most prominent fashion event.

"Mercedes-Benz Mexico and Fashion Week Mexico have decided to conclude their sponsorship relationship within the country’s most important fashion platform," Fashion Week announced on social media. Both organizations highlighted their "shared journey of growth," spanning 34 editions and more than 1,000 runway shows.

"Mercedes-Benz has been a pillar in promoting Latin American creativity and talent. Its legacy will remain in our country’s creative ecosystem," said Cory Crespo, co-founder, Fashion Week Mexico and president, COLOüRS, the agency managing the event.

Since 2006, the partnership has played a key role in positioning Mexican fashion on the global stage. In recent years, Fashion Week Mexico has expanded beyond Mexico City, hosting events in other regions. According to the official statement, the decision to end the collaboration stems from a natural evolution of both parties' strategies, with a vision to explore new ways to inspire and connect with audiences.

Mercedes-Benz Mexico, a key player in the luxury and automotive industries, has used Fashion Week Mexico as a platform to engage with consumers beyond the automotive sector. Its involvement provided designers, brands, and creative professionals with greater visibility and industry support. The final edition under Mercedes-Benz’s sponsorship took place in October 2024 in Mexico City, featuring 18 designers and a focus on menswear.
