The Industry Suppliers Chain in Mexico (CAPIM) chamber says that Mexican suppliers can expect to secure contracts exceeding US$20 billion in the automotive, technology, electronics, metal-mechanical, plastics, and aluminum sectors, capitalizing on the nearshoring trend.

René Mendoza, President, CAPIM, says that this year suppliers can expect contracts surpassing last year's US$4.98 billion, reports El Financiero. The chamber is targeting over US$10 billion in new contracts, focusing mainly on the automotive industry, which accounts for 73% of the growth in supply chain purchases due to nearshoring policies.

CAPIM is also promoting the metal-mechanical and plastics sectors, including machining, plastic injection, aluminum injection, stamping, casting, and more. This approach aligns with the organization's efforts to diversify and strengthen the supplier base.

Nuevo Leon has secured 76% of nearshoring investments and is supporting small to medium-sized enterprises with loans totaling MX$6 billion to enhance their integration into productive chains, says José Luis Garza, Deputy Minister of Business Development, Ministry of Economy of Nuevo Leon.

Nuevo Leon’s government is collaborating with industry associations such as CANIETI, CANALUM, and INA to maintain the state’s position as a preferred destination for nearshoring investments.
