Vehicle sales in Mexico reached 709,341 units in the first half of 2025, reflecting a slight 0.2% decline compared to the same period in 2024, according to figures from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).

In June alone, 116,059 vehicles were sold, a 5.9% decrease year-over-year from the 123,391 units registered in June 2024, as reported in the Administrative Registry of the Automotive Industry of Light Vehicles (RAIAVL).

Leading automakers by June 2025 sales included:

  • Nissan: 21,153 units

  • General Motors: 14,736 units

  • Volkswagen: 10,471 units

  • Toyota: 10,162 units

  • KIA: 9,410 units

  • Mazda: 7,126 units

  • Chrysler: 4,928 units

  • Ford Motor: 4,497 units

  • Hyundai: 4,318 units

  • MG Motor: 3,675 units

MG Motor maintained its lead among Chinese brands, selling 3,675 units in June. It was followed by JAC with 2,044 units, Changan with 1,601, and Great Wall Motor with 1,039 units.

In the premium segment, BMW led with 1,698 units sold, while Mercedes-Benz climbed to second with 1,089, surpassing Audi, which recorded 792 units. Volvo closed out the month with 514 units sold.

The overall decline in vehicle sales comes amid broader industry challenges, including global supply chain disruptions and rising import tariffs.
