MG Mexico has reached a significant milestone, selling 200,000 units since its market debut in October 2020. This achievement cements its position as the top-selling Chinese-origin brand in Mexico and one of the 10 best-selling brands nationwide.

In April 2025, MG reported its highest monthly sales of the year, with 4,450 units sold. This performance boosted its market share to 4.1% for the month, maintaining its position in Mexico's top 10 automotive brands. The MG5 sedan, its best-selling model, posted its strongest performance in the past 12 months. April sales increased by 445 units compared to March, continuing the brand's upward trajectory.

Since entering the market, MG Motor has prioritized expanding its presence in Mexico. By May 2025, the company operated 102 dealerships nationwide, supported by over 2,700 employees. Its product portfolio includes 14 models, spanning combustion and electrified vehicles across various segments.

In 2024, MG Motor achieved record sales of 60,000 vehicles in Mexico, closing the year with a 4% market share and ranking eighth in national sales for the third consecutive year.

“Mexico has become MG’s second most important international market outside China, trailing only the United Kingdom,” the company stated.

Looking ahead, MG Motor announced plans to invest US$1.05 billion in building a light vehicle manufacturing plant in Mexico. Of this total, US$450 million is allocated to infrastructure and US$500 million to equipment. The location for the plant is still under consideration.

“This new phase of development positions Mexico as the heart of our expansion strategy in Latin America. We are deeply grateful to Mexican consumers for their trust in helping us achieve these milestones. We will continue working to enhance our offerings and reaffirm our commitment to contributing to the industry’s growth, meeting the needs and high standards demanded by Mexican customers,” said Zhang Wei, President, MG Motor México.
