Nissan Mexicana celebrates 15 years as the leader in Mexican auto sales. The Japanese company’s operations in Mexico are its fourth largest globally. Through innovation, Nissan Mexicana has maintained its dominant position in the Mexican market despite challenges.

"Today, I feel incredibly proud to be part of Nissan Mexicana, a company that has maintained its success thanks to the hard work and effort of every member of the One Team, One Nissan. At Nissan, we remain committed to Mexican society and will continue to focus on delivering safe, high-quality vehicles along with excellent customer service for our clients," says José Román, President, Nissan Mexicana.

The automaker claimed the top spot in auto sales in March, for a total of 22,623 units sold. Nissan has solidified the market position of five of its vehicle models, establishing them as top performers in their respective segments. The Nissan Versa holds a 27.1% market share, while the Nissan Sentra maintains its leadership position with a 31.3% share in its segment. Additionally, the Nissan March has surpassed expectations with a market share of 39.6% in its market segment. In the pickup segment, the Nissan NP300 continues to be a dominant player with a 49.6% market share. Furthermore, the Nissan URVAN utility vehicle has made notable progress, achieving a 46.1% market share in its respective segment, as reported by Nissan Mexicana.

As Nissan Mexicana wraps up its fiscal year, it reports the successful completion of its Nissan Next plan, through which it revamped its entire portfolio with fresh designs and new models. Another significant milestone was the introduction of e-POWER technology in the country, marking a new era in electric mobility. In July 2022, Nissan Mexicana announced the arrival of the e-POWER technology in Mexico through the Nissan Kicks e-POWER. This system delivers a unique driving experience by using an internal combustion engine and an electric engine simultaneously, as reported by MBN.

Moreover, at the beginning of January, Nissan Mexicana started production of the new Nissan X-Trail e-POWER, with which the company wants to continue to redefine the future of electric mobility. This is the Japanese automaker's second model to arrive in Mexico with the new electric motorization. “This year 2023, we will continue to advance our plan to redefine the future of electric mobility in the country, with e-POWER technology, to offer an exciting driving experience that enriches people's lives,” adds Román.
