Sigrama Invests US$3 Million in Torreon Plant, Triples Output
Sigrama inaugurated its third production facility in Torreon, Coahuila, on Jan. 28, 2026, following a US$3 million investment expected to generate 180 new jobs and significantly expand the company’s industrial automation capacity. The plant aims to increase monthly production of electrical control panels from 200 units to more than 600 by the end of 2026.
Alfredo Hernández Muñiz, CEO, Sigrama, said the company currently employs 360 people and that the expansion will allow the addition of specialized talent to support advanced technological integration and regional industrial development. “With this new plant, we project the generation of 180 additional jobs in the short and medium term,” Hernández Muñiz said. He added that the facility forms part of a broader strategy centered on automation, instrumentation and industrial control solutions aimed at meeting rising market demand.
The expansion is closely linked to Sigrama’s strategic partnership with Siemens, which has played a key role in supporting the company’s technological development over the years. Barry Powell, CEO, Siemens, attended the inauguration, emphasizing the strength of the collaboration. “This alliance has allowed us to reinforce technological and productive projects with regional impact,” Powell said.
“This investment reflects the company’s confidence in Torreón and Coahuila as strategic industrial destinations,” said Marcelo Valdés Quintanilla, Director of Economic Development for Torreon. He also highlighted the partnership with Siemens as a key factor in the company’s expansion and in the broader strengthening of the regional industrial ecosystem.
Hernández Muñiz noted that the expansion responds to structural regional challenges—such as the energy transition and water supply constraints—and is expected to create opportunities across production, distribution and energy transmission-related sectors.
Additionally, Shanghai Yongmaotai Automotive Technology announced a nearly US$60 million investment to build an aluminum auto parts plant in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila.
