Ford Mexico and Stellantis Mexico are two of the 25 best employers in Mexico, according to the 2022 LinkedIn ranking. Both automakers invest in their employees and can provide career growth opportunities, said the platform. Engineering and operations are the areas with more employees both in Ford and Stellantis in Mexico.

The LinkedIn ranking aims to inform potential employees which companies offer the best opportunities. Growth capability, development of abilities, company’s stability, external opportunities, enterprise affinity, gender diversity and education level were the variables evaluated to determine the ranking positions.

Ford occupies third place in the overall ranking and the top spot in the automotive industry. This year the company implemented paternity licenses and recruited women who left the labor force through its program “Re-Entry,” said Ford. The OEM also implemented strategies to raise the percentage of women working for the company such as the “Mujeres de Ford” program. “In Ford we listen to our collaborators and we are constantly looking to transform and adapt to the new needs through labor flexibility policies and new benefits that generate an empathy and support culture for everyone,” said Luz Elena del Castillo, CEO, Ford Mexico.

Although more women are entering the industry, data shows that there are still numerous obstacles barring their way. According to Deloitte’s Women at the Wheel 2020, 45 percent of surveyed women claimed they would move to a different industry due to the limited opportunities, diversity and poor work-life balance in the automotive sector, as reported by MBN.

For its part, Stellantis Mexico ranked in 13th place. According to LinkedIn data, design and product engineers are the most needed profiles in the company. In Mexico, the OEM has 15,050 employees. Regarding gender inclusion, Stellantis aims for over 35 percent of its leadership roles to be held by women by 2030. In 2021, women held 24 percent of global leadership positions.

“We are honored for a consecutive second year in the list because it depicts our commitment with the professional development of our employees,” said Ana Laura Dorantes, HR Director, Stellantis.

Stellantis Mexico increase sales by 27 percent during Mar. 2022 and has just released its Hurricane motor, which will be manufactured at its Saltillo plant.
