Starting in early 2024, Ford's extensive customer base will gain seamless access to Tesla's vast network of 12,000 Superchargers, spanning the US. A major breakthrough in this partnership is the integration of the North American Charging Standard (NACS) port into the next-generation Ford vehicles.

In a groundbreaking collaboration, Tesla and Ford have joined forces to revolutionize the electric vehicle industry, aiming to accelerate the widespread adoption of sustainable transportation across the US. “We do not want Tesla superchargers to be a walled garden,” says Elon Musk, CEO, Tesla.

A year ago, Ford announced the separation of its EV and internal combustion engine (ICE) businesses as part of its plan to become a leader in the EV market.  The move came at a time when demand for these vehicles is rising in different countries, as reported by MBN. Ford's strategic decision to split its business has been a game-changer, enabling the company to focus on prioritizing the customer's best interests. By concentrating efforts on delivering an exceptional EV experience, Ford can now channel its resources towards improving key aspects such as overall customer satisfaction, explains Jim Farley, CEO, Ford.

As the world races toward a greener future, advancing electrification presents a host of challenges that require innovative solutions and collective efforts. For example, while there is a significant amount of lithium reserves available, the bottleneck lies in the efficient processing of this crucial resource, explains Musk. Recognizing this chokepoint, Tesla has taken a leading role in tackling the issue head-on

Moreover, Musk has highlighted the untapped potential within the heavy industry sector. Recognizing the transformative power it holds, Musk has called upon entrepreneurs and innovators to rise to the occasion and harness the vast opportunities available.

Mexico, with its advantageous location and free trade agreements with North America, is rapidly emerging as an important manufacturing hub for EVs. Major automakers such as Ford, GM, Audi, BMW and now Tesla are investing in facilities to assemble electric-powered cars. Industry representatives, including Julio Galván, Manager of Economic Studies, National Auto Parts Industry (INA), highlight the benefits Mexico offers to the automotive industry, as reported by MBN

The collaboration between Tesla and Ford, along with the growth of the EV sector in Mexico, signals a significant shift towards a greener automotive future. By combining forces, these industry leaders are propelling the adoption of sustainable transportation and redefining the landscape of the EV industry.
