IFT, MEXDC to Strengthen Mexico’s Digital Future

The Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) and the Mexican Association of Data Centers (MEXDC), have formalized a collaboration agreement focused on enhancing digital transformation, promoting the development of the digital ecosystem, and strengthening the country's digital infrastructure. Central to this initiative is the exchange of statistical information, design of programs, projects, and actions with national and international organizations.

The signing of this general collaboration agreement was led by distinguished figures such as the IFT's acting President Commissioner, Javier Juárez Mojica, and the President of the MEXDC, Amet Novillo Suárez. Accompanying them were IFT Commissioners Arturo Robles Rovalo, Ramiro Camacho Castillo, and Sóstenes Díaz González, together with Adriana Rivera, Executive Director of the MEXDC.

The main objective of this agreement is to foster cooperation between both institutions to promote digital transformation in Mexico. This will be achieved through various actions ranging from promoting digital literacy and cybersecurity culture to fostering digital inclusion and strengthening economic competition in the Data Center sector.

The relevance of this alliance lies in the recognition that data centers are fundamental components of the country's digital infrastructure. These centers, according to MEXDC, not only serve as the foundation of digital operations for various companies, but also play a crucial role in the security and protection of data. In this sense, the collaboration between the two entities will make it possible to promote a culture of cybersecurity among the companies that use these centers, thereby contributing to a more secure and robust digital ecosystem.

To achieve the objectives outlined in this agreement, coordination and communication channels will be established for the exchange of statistical information, design of programs, projects, and various actions. In addition, they will jointly participate in various national and international events, such as forums, conferences, seminars, and workshops with the aim of encouraging the exchange of knowledge and experiences that promote digital transformation in the country.

Among the activities contemplated in this agreement is the participation in projects and programs for updating, training, and educating mexican community on topics related to telecommunications and data management. Likewise, dissemination activities will be carried out with the data center industry to promote economic competition and deepen the knowledge of the IFT's powers in this area.

This strategic alliance between the IFT and MEXDC, according to the press release, aims to lay the foundations for a more promising and secure digital future for Mexico, where digital transformation is an engine of economic and social growth.
