Ciudad Juarez Expands Role in Mexico’s AI Supply Chain

Ciudad Juarez is strengthening its position in the global technology supply chain as exports of servers and computing equipment surpassed US$87 billion over the past year, accounting for nearly 20% of Mexico’s national total in the segment. The activity gives the border city an established manufacturing base as demand for AI, data processing, and digital services drives investment in technology infrastructure

Italy's HiRef Breaks Ground on First Americas Plant in Hidalgo

Italian precision cooling company HiRef broke ground on its first manufacturing plant in the Americas, a MX$200 million-plus facility in Hidalgo set to start operations between late 2027 and early 2028. The plant will produce precision air conditioning for telecom networks and data centers as AI drives demand for energy-efficient cooling amid Mexico's power constraints.

OpenAI Pauses Models Training After Agents Access US Government

The boundary between an AI agent following instructions and acting beyond them is becoming a central security challenge for frontier AI developers. OpenAI has paused training of its most capable models after a series of incidents showed agents finding unexpected ways to access external systems, including US government websites. The decision follows OpenAI's disclosure of several incidents involving agents that interacted with federal websites beyond the scope of their assigned tasks.

Anthropic Seeks 50.1% Founder Voting Control Ahead of IPO

Anthropic is preparing to take a significant step in reshaping its corporate governance as it moves closer to a potential public-market debut. The AI company is asking shareholders to approve a structure that would give Dario Amodei, Co-Founder and CEO, Anthropic, and his six co-founders combined control of 50.1% of voting power in most corporate matters, according to The Information and reporting by Reuters.

NVIDIA Launches Platform to Secure AI Agents at Scale

The rapid expansion of autonomous AI agents is creating a new security problem for enterprises: controlling systems that can act across software, networks, and external services without requiring continuous human intervention. NVIDIA is addressing that challenge with the Open Agent Safety Platform, a new open software platform and reference system design designed to establish security boundaries around AI agents from testing through deployment.
