Mexico advanced its institutional adoption of AI-assisted legislative work, large-scale public training, and semiconductor capabilities, while global leaders at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos reframed AI as the primary engine of economic restructuring, eclipsing geopolitics. However, this acceleration carries material constraints: data centers are set to redefine energy demand and sustainability trade-offs, even as Physical AI promises radical efficiency gains.

Mexican Lawmakers Increasingly Use AI in Speeches: Study

A recent study published in Nexos Magazine argues that Mexican lawmakers increasingly use AI when making speeches. Researchers argue that Mexico’s Congress recorded a 70% increase in the use of AI linguistic markers within parliamentary speeches since September 2024, signaling a transition toward a hybrid model of political representation.

Mexico Launches Public AI Center to Train 11,000 Students

The Public Training Center for AI, an initiative from the Digital Transformation and Telecommunications Agency (ATDT), has started its operations, beginning the technical training for over 11,000 students in AI and cybersecurity and establishing the largest specialized public center in the region.

IPN Opens Cleanroom to Boost Semiconductor Design, Fabrication

The Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) has operationalized a Class 100 (ISO 5) cleanroom within its Laboratorio Nacional de Micro y Nanotecnologías. This technical infrastructure will enable the design, fabrication, and characterization of semiconductors under international purity standards to drive technological self-sufficiency and industrial competitiveness.

Davos 2026: AI Overtakes Geopolitics as Economic Engine

AI is becoming the primary driver of global economic restructuring, said leaders at the WEF 2026. This technology is reaching the place of previous top geopolitical and trade discussions like the US-China tariff war, the energy blackmail, and global economic inflation. Tech leaders and policymakers are prioritizing operational implementation, energy infrastructure, and systemic risk mitigation to manage the transition toward artificial general intelligence (AGI).

AI Data Centers to Drive 80% of US Power Demand By 2050

Data center energy requirements are projected to increase the US electricity demand by 60% to 80% through 2050. This expansion could trigger a 29% rise in power plant carbon dioxide emissions during the next decade unless significant renewable energy policies are implemented.

Physical AI to Bring “Abundance for All”: Elon Musk

As operational efficiency and technological return on investment (ROI) dictate the agenda of corporate powers, Elon Musk, CEO, Tesla, envisions a transition that will lead to “abundance for all,” led by Physical AI. Musk frames the transition to Physical AI not as a market option, but as a biological and technological imperative to ensure the continuity of consciousness in the face of possible natural or man-made disasters.
