New Semiconductor Center / GMO Corn Ban

Semiconductor Design Center Project. Rosaura Ruíz, Head, Ministry of Science, Humanities, Technology, and Innovation (SECIHTI), presented a new semiconductor project named ‘Kutsari,’ a Purépecha word meaning sand. “Sand has a key role in the development of semiconductor technology, as silicon, the key material used to create these devices, is sourced from sand.”

MEXDC, AMERIC Partner to Strengthen Data Center Certification

The Mexican Association of Data Centers (MEXDC) and the Mexican Association of Construction Facilities Companies (AMERIC) have signed a collaboration agreement to develop training and certification strategies for the industry, ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards.

Senator Launches AI Workshops for Mexican Legislators 

Senator Rolando Zapata, President of the Commission for Analysis, Follow-up, and Evaluation on the Application and Development of AI in Mexico, launched a series of specialized workshops on AI for legislators and advisors of the Senate of the Republic. A large-scale randomized trial reports that AI can improve breast cancer detection rates while reducing radiologists’ workload. The Mammography Screening with Artificial Intelligence (MASAI) trial, conducted within Sweden’s national screening program, involved over 105,000 women and was published in The Lancet Digital Health.
