Kyndryl announced a collaboration with the Government of Mexico to train 1,000individuals in cybersecurity fundamentals through the National Accelerated Training Program of the National Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. The initiative aims to enhance the country’s digital resilience and prepare a new generation of professionals specialized in cybersecurity.

“Cybersecurity is the foundation of trust and digital innovation. It is not just a technology issue — it is a social imperative,” says Carlos Marcel, Managing Director, Kyndryl Mexico. “This collaboration with the Government of Mexico reflects our shared commitment to developing digital talent and strengthening the country’s capacity to innovate safely.”

The partnership between Kyndryl and the Mexican Government occurs amid rising concern over cyber threats and a growing skills gap in information security. According to the Kyndryl Readiness Report 2025, organizations in Mexico are increasingly prioritizing cybersecurity and resilience within their digital transformation strategies. However, only 34% of respondents consider themselves fully prepared to face different types of risk.

This gap highlights the urgency of accelerating local talent development in cybersecurity to protect business continuity and national infrastructure. The National Accelerated Training Program is part of a broader initiative led by the Government of Mexico through INFOTEC and the Agency for Digital Transformation and Telecommunications. The program promotes digital inclusion and strengthens the capabilities required to sustain the country’s digital economy.

Program Details

Kyndryl will deliver a 20-week intensive training program consisting of 150 hours of instruction. The course will combine live, online, and pre-recorded sessions. Participants will receive foundational knowledge in cybersecurity practices and risk management frameworks relevant to both the public and private sectors.

Technical experts from Kyndryl will provide mentorship and co-facilitate modules with instructors from INFOTEC, promoting an applied learning model based on practical engagement. The initiative aligns with Mexico’s digital transformation agenda, which seeks to expand national capacities in AI, data protection, and technological innovation.

By investing in workforce upskilling, Kyndryl and the Mexican Government aim to strengthen long-term resilience against increasingly complex cyberattacks and create a sustainable talent pipeline to support national economic and technological growth.

The collaboration underscores the importance of public-private partnerships as a mechanism for building national capabilities. Kyndryl’s model supports knowledge transfer, employability, and the implementation of cybersecurity standards across sectors.

The Kyndryl Readiness Report 2025 indicates that organizations in Mexico are beginning to integrate resilience frameworks into their operational models. The report identifies a turning point in the national approach to cybersecurity, characterized by heightened awareness of vulnerabilities and an increasing willingness to implement structural changes.

Through its contribution to the National Artificial Intelligence Laboratory’s training program, Kyndryl advances its strategy of embedding cybersecurity expertise within the digital ecosystems of its key markets. This initiative aligns with the company’s global objective of enabling secure innovation environments where enterprises can manage risk and transformation simultaneously.
