Amazon Mexico, Rappi Launch 15-Minute Delivery Service
Amazon Mexico has launched Amazon Now, a new service promising delivery of more than 5,000 essential products in under 15 minutes. Developed in collaboration with Rappi, the initiative will initially be available in Mexico’s 10 largest cities, including Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey.
During the launch phase, Amazon Now deliveries will be free for Amazon Prime members. Other users can access the service for MX$53.33 (US$2.87) per order. Purchases can be made through a dedicated store within the Amazon Mexico app or directly on its website. The catalog includes groceries, frozen goods, hygiene items, over-the-counter medicines, pet supplies, beauty products, and electronics.
As part of the expanded partnership, Rappi Restaurantes is now integrated directly into the Amazon platform. Amazon Prime members can order food from more than 30,000 restaurants through Amazon, with free and unlimited delivery even after the initial Rappi Pro trial period, said Pedro Huerta, Country Manager, Amazon Mexico.
Iván Cadavid, CEO, Rappi Mexico, said the partnership represents a major opportunity for both customers and local businesses. “This collaboration will help restaurants expand their customer base and leverage the technological capabilities of both platforms,” he noted.
