Apple is reportedly planning to launch a new home delivery service at its retail stores starting in August 2023. The home delivery service is a significant move for Apple, as it is the first time that the company has offered a similar service from its retail stores. The move is likely in response to the growing demand for online shopping and the increasing popularity of e-commerce.

Apple’s new service, called "EasyPay Online Ordering," will allow customers to purchase products in-store and have them shipped to their home or office, according to a memo obtained by Bloomberg. The new service will offer a variety of fulfillment methods, including home shipping, product personalization and in-store pickup. Customers will be able to choose their preferred fulfillment method when using the company’s EasyPay point-of-sale machines.

Through this move, Apple aims to enhance its competitive edge against major retailers like Amazon, Walmart and Best Buy, which already offer home delivery services. Additionally, the service is expected to aid Apple in minimizing the volume of inventory it must maintain at its brick-and-mortar stores.

The news comes shortly after the company announced its upcoming Apple Vision Pro, which is set to launch globally next year. “Apple has changed the way we experience technology and increased the quality of our lives by allowing us to connect and express ourselves in ways never before possible,” says Oscar Jaramillo, CIO, Enermex.

According to The Economic Times report, Apple is redirecting its attention from the US, Japan and China to emerging markets, driven by the higher sales figures in these regions. Apple achieved its best-ever quarterly sales in emerging countries such as Mexico, Indonesia, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. Additionally, it just experienced its best-ever March in  Malaysia, Brazil, and India.

“Where our results were really stellar during this quarter was really in the emerging markets, and we could not be prouder of the results that we had there,” says Tim Cook, CEO, Apple.
