Luxury Italian artisanal brand Bottega Veneta has opened its first flagship store in the southeastern region of Mexico, banking on Cancun, due to the high international tourism traffic. The brand's new flagship store is situated at the La Isla shopping center and explores materials rooted in Italian tradition, nodding to the brand's connection with craftsmanship and the Veneto region of northeastern Italy, where Bottega Veneta was born in 1966.

"Inspired by Mediterranean coastal architecture, the design of the Cancún store features a sensual application of Venetian marmorino plaster. This uniquely carved space boasts an intimate ambiance composed of organic stone slabs, known as Palladian terrazzo, a technique typically seen in grand villas," shared Bottega Veneta representatives.

The Italian house's flagship store has commenced operations with an offering from Matthieu Blazy's Summer 2024 collection. As confirmed by the brand, this includes an exclusive limited-edition Sardine handbag, crafted entirely by hand with raffia and supple contrasting leather.

With this opening, the brand owned by Kering reaches a total of seven stores in Mexico. These primarily operate under the shop-in-shop format within El Palacio de Hierro, except for its flagship store in Guadalajara, inaugurated towards the end of 2023, and now this one in Cancun.
