More than 50% of businesses in Mexico use Generative AI (GenAI) to automate tasks and streamline processes, found a report by web hosting service Neubox. The businesses that have not yet implemented AI tools cite a lack of understanding of how it works and uncertainty about its integration into their processes.
"The findings reflect the level of penetration and sophistication that GenAI is achieving in these companies, challenging previous expectations that positioned it as a tool for limited or exclusive to larger enterprises. [These results] underscore the multiple benefits that GenAI can offer in an increasingly saturated and competitive market," says José Luis González, Founder, Neubox in a press release shared with MBN.
According to experts, the integration of this technology empowers businesses to employ filters, enabling e-commerce algorithms to present a curated selection of options tailored to individual budgets. The personalization facilitated by AI not only enhances the overall shopping experience for consumers but also ensures they are exposed solely to items aligned with their preferences, optimizing and streamlining the entire shopping process.
According to survey data, GenAI for text leads is the most used technology by Mexican businesses, with 78.9% using it to generate commercial or literary content, 45.6% for synthesizing and summarizing information, and 38.2% for translations. The predominant use of GenAI centers around crafting email communications directed at customers and brand associates, as well as the development of engaging social media copy. With this tool, businesses can customize messages and further personalize the experience, drawing insights from intricate customer behavior data.
Among the primary benefits of these tools, 38% of those surveyed cite increasing staff productivity, which grew by 65.7% as employees can execute repetitive tasks in less time and focus on core tasks. The penetration of this technology in the business sector is “redefining the boundaries of what is possible and leveling the playing field in the competitive landscape,” reads the press release.
Yet, 45.3% of SMEs have not embraced this tool, 44.7% of those surveyed said that the right moment has not arrived, and 41.1% expressed uncertainty about how to proceed. Of the surveyed, 93.4% plan to leverage GenAI within their companies in the near to medium term, as noted by Neubox.
