Colombian delivery platform Rappi partnered with Chubb, an insurance company, to launch a new, fully-digital insurance product tailored to the needs of the new digital consumer. The new service will be available to Rappi’s more than 10 million clients in Latin America.

On May 3, Chubb announced that “Rappi users who decide to use Chubb’s insurance will benefit from its extensive coverage and assistance, including protection against cellphone theft or damage, insurance against fraudulent internet purchases and identity theft, among others. Home insurance will also be available in an easy, fast and affordable way.” The new product is called Chubb Studio and will also offer insurance for vehicles, personal accidents, health, life, residential, mobile phone and travel, among others. It will also be available to small and medium-sized companies.

In a statement, the delivery platform mentioned that “At Rappi, we already bring financial services to Mexico through cellphones. In addition to the RappiCuenta and the RappiCard, now Rappi Insurance can be acquired 100 percent digitally,” highlights Juan Guerra, CEO of Rappi Financial México. Alfonso Vargas, Country President of Chubb in Mexico, later said, “At Chubb Seguros Mexico, this commercial alliance fills us with enthusiasm. Chubb is a global company and Mexico is one of our largest and most important markets. Through this alliance, we will offer our global support and capabilities, broad product offering and claims handling expertise. We are pleased to extend an innovative insurance offering to Rappi’s millions of customers. Our Chubb Studio platform makes this process seamless, efficient and fast.”

During the pandemic, Rappi has widely expanded and diversified its service offering. As previously mentioned in an MBN article, the delivery company had introduced other services like RappiContigo and RappiCard, which have found extensive applications in the Mexican economy. With this new product line, Rappi enriches its service offering. “Today, thanks to this alliance with Chubb, we are enriching our services to contribute to the well-being of millions of Mexicans and their families,” said Guerra.
