Esentia Energy Debuts on Mexican Stock Exchange

Esentia Energy Development made its public market debut on the Mexican Stock Exchange on Nov. 20, 2025, achieving an equity valuation of approximately MX$24 billion following the pricing of its IPO. The offering marks one of Mexico’s most significant listings in recent years and signals renewed investor appetite for large energy infrastructure assets.

North America’s LNG Export Capacity to Accelerate Through 2029

North America is positioned for a major expansion of liquefied natural gas export capacity by the end of the decade, with the United States, Canada and Mexico expected to add more than 17Bcf/d of new liquefaction capacity by 2029, according to data from the US Energy Information Administration. The additions would more than double the region’s export capacity and represent more than half of global LNG growth projected through 2029.

CNE Denies Pipeline Permit for LNG Plan in Altamira

The National Energy Commission (CNE) denied Mexico FLNG Onshore, a subsidiary of New Fortress Energy, the permit required to transport natural gas by pipeline. The commission cited technical inconsistencies in the company’s application and determined that the documentation presented did not meet the standards required for approval. Mexico’s Ministry of Energy stated that the company is free to reapply once it has corrected the deficiencies highlighted by the regulator.

US Natural Gas Exports to Mexico Hit Record in May 2025

US natural gas pipeline exports to Mexico reached a record high in May 2025, averaging 7.5Bcf/d, driven by growing demand for natural gas in Mexico’s electric power sector, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA). Overall, pipeline exports from the US to Mexico averaged 6.4Bcf/d in 2024, a 25% increase compared with 2019 and the highest annual average since records began in 1975.
