Mitsui & Co. has launched Mitsui & Co. Infrastructure Solutions (MITinfra) to deliver water, power and energy solutions in Mexico. MITinfra will provide companies with infrastructure services offered by Mitsui's two subsidiaries, Atlatec, a water-related business, and Mitsui & Co. Power Development and Management Americas (MPA), focused on power generation.

"Through MITinfra, we want to respond to the current market trend of decentralization, decarbonization and digitalization. MITinfra will provide a reliable, competitive and environmentally sustainable water and energy supply to our customers in Mexico, contributing to the social and economic development of Mexico and its surrounding countries simultaneously,” said Ramón Moreno Vergara, CEO, MITinfra. Atlatec was acquired by Mitsui in 2008. It is a leading environmental services provider in Mexico, with more than 60 years of experience in the market. Atlatec offers integrated water treatment solutions that include development, financing, designing, construction, as well as operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment plants for municipalities, commercial and industrial customers.

MPA was established in 2010 to operate and manage Mitsui's Mexican power generation assets. In recent years, MPA has diversified its activities, transitioning from traditional power generation, to focusing on the development, management and operation of renewable assets, on-site generation plants, power retailing and energy management, with an efficient vertical integration in a clean energy matrix.

MITinfra also provides the Mitsui & Co. with a platform to expand its infrastructure business further. The company will continue to work toward sustainability and a social balance with the environment to ensure a sustainable and stable supply of infrastructure services, which is essential for social development.
