PEMEX aims to expand into new energy sources, including renewables, hydrogen, and geoenergy, as noted in its Organic Statute. In other news, the Ministry of Energy (SENER) approved the construction of a CFE substation in Puebla. The project is expected to cost over MX$178 million (US$9.2 million).

Bachoco to Install Solar Panels at 300 Facilities Nationwide

Bachoco reaffirms its commitment to clean energy in its 2024 sustainability report, highlighting plans to install solar panels across 300 facilities in 19 states. With this new renewable energy initiative, the company estimates it will generate 98,000MWh of solar power annually and prevent 42,000t of CO₂e from entering the atmosphere.

Solarig Surpasses 4GW in Solar Operation

Spanish energy company Solarig added 1.48GWp of solar capacity to its management portfolio in Mexico. With this addition, the company’s production capacity now exceeds 4GW, allowing it to power about 3.3 million homes and prevent 4.4Mt of CO2 from reaching the atmosphere. 

SENER Approves New CFE Substation Project in Puebla

The Ministry of Energy approved a request from Puebla Governor Alejandro Armenta to begin construction of a CFE substation in Ciudad Modelo.
