SENER Holds Session on Priority Power Generation Permits

SENER, CNE and CENACE held the second informational session for the Call for Priority Attention of Electric Generation Permit Applications. During the meeting, attendees received detailed information on the objectives, requirements, and deadlines for the call, in addition to having their questions about the registration process answered.

SENER stated that the call marks the beginning of a new phase of collaboration between the Mexican state, companies, and the sector. The effort aims to ensure energy attention is planned, incorporates innovation, and provides certainty for investment.

Interested parties have until Oct. 24, 2025, to express their interest in the Call for Priority Attention of Electric Generation Permits. Materials, an instruction manual, and a video tutorial are available to assist with participation. Registration is accessible through the government's online platform.

SENER Invites Private Investment for Power Generation

SENER invited investors and private sector groups to collaborate with the Mexican government to finalize electricity generation investments in priority areas of the country. These actions are intended to contribute to Plan México, the National Development Plan, and the country’s energy transition goals.

SENER's new call for proposals establishes a mechanism for the priority processing of permit applications for strategic electric power plants. The process brings order to the application procedure, speeds up the attention given to requests, and groups projects by region. This is expected to optimize reinforcement works and provide financial viability for project development.
