Q: What are Pylontech’s expectations for the Mexican market?

A: Pylontech is a lithium battery manufacturer with over 15 years of experience. We have been in the Mexican market for about seven years, but in the last three, we have actively participated in expos due to the growing interest in energy storage solutions. The interest shown in industry gatherings speaks volumes of the potential for growth that storage has in the Mexican market.

Q: What factors are driving the adoption of battery energy storage systems (BESS) in solar projects?

A: A key challenge in Mexico is the limited knowledge of battery technology. Until four or five years ago, battery installations were rare, but this is changing. Pylontech has extensive global experience, and our batteries have been in use for over a decade in the European Union and Australia.

A major advantage is our fully integrated manufacturing process — we control every stage, from raw materials to final assembly. Unlike most battery suppliers, we produce our cells in-house, ensuring high quality and reliability. This has strengthened our reputation in Mexico, where we work with three major distributors serving both solar and storage markets. We have also completed large-scale projects in Mexico and internationally, demonstrating our long-term performance and reliability.

Q: How do recent policy changes and regulatory developments shape the outlook for energy storage in Mexico?

A: Mexico presents significant opportunities for large-scale storage, particularly due to regional variations in energy costs and grid reliability issues. Power outages, voltage fluctuations, and disruptions in industrial areas create strong demand for energy storage solutions. Beyond energy security, storage also offers economic benefits by optimizing energy usage based on time-of-use rates, generating long-term savings for customers. These challenges and opportunities exist independently of political changes and align with global trends in energy management.

Q: What would you say to those hesitant about adopting energy storage, and what should potential buyers consider when selecting a provider?

A: It is essential to stay informed. The market is evolving, and relying solely on traditional solar generation limits the ability to offer comprehensive solutions. The widespread presence of storage solutions at industry events underscores a global shift toward energy storage adoption.

For those entering the market, knowledge is key. Understanding storage technologies and their applications is essential to delivering real value to customers. When choosing a provider, buyers should consider not only the product but also the manufacturer’s level of control over production. Many brands only assemble batteries, whereas Pylontech designs and manufactures its solutions entirely in-house. This vertical integration has positioned us as a leader in residential storage, with a strong presence in the commercial and industrial sectors worldwide.

Q: What are the main opportunities you identify for 2025?

A: A key project in Mexico involved a collaboration with southeastern airports, where we deployed about 10MWh of battery storage for peak shaving across multiple locations.

Beyond Mexico, we are actively developing projects in Honduras, Colombia, Argentina, and Chile, reflecting Latin America’s growing interest in energy storage. Demand is clearly increasing across both small-scale and commercial-industrial sectors.

Our message is clear: advancing with energy storage is the way forward. The interest we have seen confirms that this technology is gaining traction across industries.

Pylontech is a dedicated energy storage system (ESS) provider with broad expertise in electrochemistry, power electronics, and system integration.
