UKG and Dell Technologies have launched a Dell Technologies Solar Community Hub sponsored by UKG in Los Pinos Park, Mexico, aimed at providing technology, education, and healthcare resources to the hillside neighborhoods of Campana and Altamira.

The hub, developed with local partners Tecnológico de Monterrey and Computer Aid International, will serve approximately 20,000 residents. It is designed to meet the community's needs by offering services such as workforce training, career development resources, and infrastructure improvements, including public transportation, water, and electricity access.

The Solar Community Hub will provide space and technology for educational programs, including computer skills, graphic design, coding, robotics, entrepreneurship, and career guidance. It will also serve as a center for social services such as healthcare, legal aid, and financial support, while promoting local business growth and job creation.

This marks the fourth Solar Community Hub installed in Mexico, with two others in the State of Mexico and one in Xalapa, Veracruz. "Talent is distributed equitably, but opportunity is not," said Brian K. Reaves, Executive Vice President and Chief Belonging, Equity, and Impact Officer, UKG. "This hub empowers the community with education, career training, and infrastructure improvements, making a long-term impact on families for generations to come."

Dell Technologies’ Solar Community Hub initiative, which includes 48 hubs worldwide, repurposes shipping containers powered by solar panels to offer sustainable resources to underserved communities. Each hub is tailored to local needs through collaborations with community partners.

Cassandra Garber, Chief Sustainability Officer, Dell Technologies, emphasized the importance of partnerships in the initiative. "Through the Dell Solar Community Hub program, we collaborate closely with local partners to deliver tailored digital resources and empower individuals to build digital skills and advance professionally."

Adrián Flores, Vice President of Monterrey and Director General, Tecnológico de Monterrey, highlighted the community's role. "Thanks to the combined efforts of Dell, UKG, Computer Aid International, NIC, FEMSA Foundation, and Tecnológico de Monterrey, we are pioneering the first phase of a vision for the Campana-Altamira community."

The initiative is part of UKG's global "Empower U" program, which focuses on equipping communities with skills and resources for long-term success. UKG continues expanding its presence in Latin America, with efforts like the UKG Innovation Hub in Montevideo, Uruguay, employing over 100 engineers for technological advancement.
