In a world where home confinement is the new norm and people cannot wait to show their moves to millions through video, TikTok has announced this week that it is ready to rock the business world. The company has launched a new brand and platform called “TikTok For Business.” This tool will serve as the home for all its current and future marketing solutions for brands, reports TechCrunch.

During the launch, company officials said that the site will include access to TikTok ad formats, including its marque product, TopView, which is the ad that appears when launching the TikTok app. Other products in TikTok For Business’ portfolio include Brand Takeovers, In-Feed Videos, Hashtag Challenges and Branded Effects.

“With the launch of TikTok For Business, we set out to embrace the creative, positive and real moments that make our community so special with solutions for businesses to connect and grow with our wonderfully expressive community,” said TikTok’s Managing Director for Global Business Marketing, Katie Puris.

Brand Takeovers are 3-5s ads that can be presented in video or image format. In-Feed Videos are generally up to 60s in length and run with the sound on. Hashtag Challenges make it possible for brands to participate in the user community by inviting TikTok users to create content around a hashtag of their choice. This includes Hashtag Plus, which also adds a shopping feature to this experience, reports TechCrunch.

The new platform hopes that TikTok stops being an experimenting tool for marketers and grows to rival other social platforms, like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat, according company officials. “As we continue to build a platform where brands bring immense value to the user experience, we are excited to continue investing in solutions that give brands a platform to inspire others, be discovered and meaningfully connect with the TikTok community,” said Puris.

In an effort to help Mexican families navigate the COVID-19 crisis, Pantene has launched the TikTok challenge called #MiPeloDiceAyudemos (“My hair says let us help”), inviting participants to make a video and share it on their social networks. “Due to the arrival of COVID-19, many Mexicans have been economically affected, Mexico needs our help. It is time to fight together!” Pantene officials said according to a report from Valor Compartido.

For each video made on TikTok between June 17 and 30 with the #MiPeloDiceAyudemos hashtag, Pantene will donate resources to Fondo Unido to purchase groceries for up to 4,000 families who have been affected by the COVID-19 virus. The company urges people to join the challenge and post their TikToks with the hashtag #MiPeloDiceAyudemos.
