Arca Continental’s 1Q26 results lifted its share price 4.4% on the Mexican Stock Exchange, supported by a 16% surge in its Santa Clara dairy brand and a continued shift toward higher-margin non-carbonated beverages. The strategy toward “stills” is helping offset net income pressure from global commodity volatility and geopolitical energy shocks affecting inputs such as aluminum and PET. The company is also leaning on stronger traditional channel execution and demand tailwinds from the 2026 FIFA World Cup to sustain profitability across its North American operations amid rising cost pressures.

Shares of Arca Continental, the second-largest Coca-Cola bottler in Latin America, rose 4.4% on the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) following the release of its 1Q26 financial results. The increase, which brought the stock price to MX$212 (US$12.20) per share, was largely attributed to the performance of its value-added dairy business, Santa Clara, and the continued expansion of its non-carbonated beverage portfolio.

Santa Clara reported 16% growth in the Mexican market during the first quarter, consolidating its position as a high-growth brand. Management confirmed that Santa Clara has officially joined the “US$1 billion club,” a designation by Coca-Cola for brands generating at least US$1 billion in annual retail sales.

“We are increasing our participation in ‘stills’ across our main markets,” company executives told analysts during a conference call. They noted that segments including dairy, sports drinks, and energy drinks are growing above the portfolio average while offering superior margins and a stronger contribution to overall profitability. The company attributed these gains to strong execution in traditional retail channels and optimized point-of-sale management.

For the first quarter ended March 31, 2026, Arca Continental reported total revenues of MX$57.127 billion, representing a 0.2% increase compared to the same period in 2025. However, consolidated EBITDA declined 0.2% during the quarter, while net income fell 8.5% to MX$3.792 billion. Management attributed these declines to mounting external cost pressures.

The company warned of increased cost volatility throughout 2026, driven by fluctuations in commodity and energy markets. “Recent geopolitical developments are generating short-term volatility in commodities and energy,” the company stated, referencing tensions in the Middle East. Key inputs under pressure include aluminum, PET, and fuels, all of which remain sensitive to global oil price fluctuations and supply chain disruptions. Despite these risks, Arca Continental reported that it has hedged approximately 97% of its aluminum requirements for the year.

The company is also positioning itself for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Executives stated that the tournament represents a strategic platform for promoting Coca-Cola Zero Sugar and Powerade. “We are leveraging the opportunity the World Cup provides not only to connect with consumers, but also with the millions of visitors expected in Mexico and the US,” management stated.

Investment Strategy for 2026

The first-quarter performance aligns with a major capital expenditure plan announced in March 2026. Arca Continental committed MX$18.5 billion (US$1.06 billion) for the 2026 fiscal year to strengthen its production and distribution capacity across the Americas.

According to the investment plan, 50% of the US$1 billion will be allocated to the Mexican market. The remaining 50% will be distributed across the company’s operations in the United States, Ecuador, Peru, and northern Argentina. The capital will primarily support the expansion of production infrastructure, the rollout of digital tools for the retail sector, and the development of new beverage categories aimed at evolving consumer preferences.

The 2026 investment plan follows a strong fiscal year in 2025, during which Arca Continental surpassed MX$50 billion (US$2.88 billion) in EBITDA for the first time. The company also reported record operating cash flow in 2025, which executives attributed to cost efficiencies and disciplined execution across all operating territories.

Despite a 2.2% decline in consolidated sales volume in 2025 due to weaker consumer spending conditions, the company reported a 4.6% increase in consolidated net sales, reaching MX$247.93 billion (US$14.27 billion). Net income for 2025 totaled MX$19.58 billion (US$1.17 billion), remaining broadly stable compared to the MX$19.56 billion (US$1.13 billion) reported in 2024.

CEO Arturo Gutiérrez Hernández emphasized that the company’s 2026 strategy is focused on strengthening digital capabilities and improving service quality for its customer base. Arca Continental currently serves more than 130 million consumers across its markets in the Americas.
