Kapital Grupo Financiero raised US$125 million in new capital from Tru Arrow Partners and Fasanara Capital to expand its proprietary artificial intelligence platform and accelerate international operations. The funding follows 1H26 net profits of US$50 million and a 220% credit portfolio expansion across Mexico and global markets. This capital drive reinforces Mexico's digital banking ecosystem as enterprise fintechs scale AI-driven corporate credit across Latin America and North America.

Kapital Grupo Financiero secured US$125 million in new financing from Tru Arrow Partners and Fasanara Capital, with participation from Cervin Ventures, Niya Partners, and Overlook Capital. Kapital will allocate the capital to deepen investment in its proprietary AI platform and data analytics tools, expanding its financial services ecosystem and accelerating growth across Mexico, Latin America, the United States, and Europe.

The capital drive supports Kapital’s plan to scale its technology infrastructure and extend enterprise lending and digital banking tools across its primary international jurisdictions. "This new capital will allow us to accelerate our next stage of growth and expand our impact in priority markets such as Mexico and the United States," stated René Saúl, CEO and Cofounder, Kapital.

1H26 Performance

The transaction builds on a strong financial performance during 1H26. Kapital recorded a net profit of nearly US$50 million during the first half of 2026, accompanied by a 220% year-over-year increase in its total credit portfolio, which surpassed US$1.7 billion. Total deposits reached over US$3.5 billion, representing a 234% year-over-year expansion.

Operational metrics remained controlled, with the institution posting a non-performing loan (NPL) ratio of 2.86% and an efficiency ratio of 34.9%, reflecting cost discipline and risk management as operations expand across international borders. Kapital currently serves more than 350,000 active clients across Mexico, the United States, Europe, and Latin America.

Series C Funding Round and Expansion Strategy

The US$125 million round follows Kapital’s Series C funding round announced in September 2025, when the institution raised up to US$110 million and doubled its valuation to over US$1.3 billion. That valuation milestone established Kapital as Mexico’s first AI-focused fintech unicorn. The company achieved its banking capabilities following strategic transactions, including the acquisition of Banco Autofin to secure a commercial banking license.

Kapital’s dual structure — combining regulated banking operations with proprietary software engines — has accelerated corporate credit, payment processing, and SME financial services within Mexico. This trajectory reflects broader regional venture capital trends across Latin America, where capital deployment has concentrated in mature scale-ups with proven operational profitability and controlled risk profiles.

Moving into 2H26, Kapital plans to deploy its newly secured capital toward further AI model training, automated credit underwriting, and expanding its corporate client base across North American and European markets.
