Toku’s partnership with Cobre brings real-time payment collection to corporate accounts receivable through Mexico’s Interbank Electronic Payment System (SPEI), streamlining cash management for enterprises. The integration automates 24/7 payment settlement and reconciliation by synchronizing transactions directly with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, reducing operational friction for financial institutions, insurers, telecommunications providers, and utilities. The move comes as Banxico expects SPEI transaction volumes to surpass credit and debit card payments in 2026, accelerating the shift toward digital automation across subscription-based business models in Mexico.

Toku has partnered with corporate real-time payment platform Cobre to launch a real-time payment collection solution through Mexico's Interbank Electronic Payment System (SPEI). The partnership enables financial institutions, insurers, telecommunications companies, and utility providers to automate cash collection processes 24/7.
The integration specifically targets subscription-based business models by embedding Cobre’s payment infrastructure into Toku’s platform, facilitating real-time settlement and automated reconciliation while addressing a longstanding industry challenge: ensuring on-time payments with minimal user friction.
The collaboration comes amid significant structural growth in electronic payments across Mexico. According to data from the country's central bank, Mexico’s central bank (Banxico), the SPEI network processed more than 7 billion transactions in 2025, surpassing adoption expectations and recording annual growth of nearly 40% compared with the previous year. For 2026, Banxico projects that SPEI transfer volumes will exceed combined credit and debit card transactions, signaling a structural shift in the national payments landscape.
The integrated technology synchronizes payment generation, invoice collection, and transaction confirmation directly with clients' enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
“The SPEI infrastructure is redefining how money circulates in the country, and working with Toku allows us to bring that efficiency to an ecosystem that has historically faced operational friction in collections,” said José Vicente Gedeón, CEO and co-founder, Cobre. “We are building the infrastructure that Mexican companies need to compete under global standards.”
Bernardo Prum, country manager for Toku Mexico, said the integration eliminates manual intervention from financial workflows. “Toku automates the relationship with the payer, and Cobre moves the money in real time,” Prum said. “What previously required days of reconciliation and tracking now happens automatically in the background.”
Toku streamlines accounts receivable operations by connecting corporate ERP software with financial networks and commercial banks. Its software suite includes payment orchestration modules, automated reconciliation engines, customizable customer portals, and algorithm-driven collection strategies.
Toku Secures US$48 Million in Series A Funding
Toku’s partnership with Cobre builds on the company's US$48 million Series A funding round completed in April 2025, which increased its total institutional financing to US$55 million. The investment, aimed at expanding its product portfolio and accelerating market expansion, represents the largest Series A funding round raised by a female founder in Latin America for a software-as-a-service (SaaS) accounts receivable platform.
Oak HC/FT led the financing round, marking the venture capital firm's fourth fintech investment in Latin America over the past three years. Existing investors Gradient Ventures, F-Prime, Clocktower, Y Combinator, and Honey Island by 4UM also participated.
The fintech company currently serves 450 enterprise and mid-market clients across Mexico, Brazil, and Chile, supporting businesses that manage between US$10 million and US$10 billion in outstanding receivables. Its client portfolio includes Chevrolet, Mapfre, Liverpool, and MetLife.
Toku employs more than 150 people and has helped increase digital payment adoption among its clients' customer bases from 10% to 90%. In 2024, the company achieved a 160% net dollar retention rate, doubled its revenue, and tripled its total processed payment volume.
